How to install Joomla?

It is possible that your hosting provider to install Joomla on your account for free. If not, please follow these easy steps:

First, you need to login to the cPanel of your hosting account. The link looks like this:

http://yourdomain.com/cp/

You will be asked to enter your Username and Password. Then the cPanel homepage will be displayed:

Scroll down to the Software/Serives section and click on Fantastico De Luxe icon:
Find out the Joomla 1.5 link to the left:

Click on the New Installation link:
On the next page you will be asked about the installation details:
- Install in directory - leave this field blank, if you would like Joomla to appear as your homepage. Otherwise fill in the directory name.
- Admin access data - choose your Administrator's Username and Password.
- Base configuration - fill in your email, your full name and the sitename. Sitename will appear in the header of your Joomla site.
Click on the Install Joomla 1.5 button. On the next page you will be asked to finish the installation.

Your Joomla installation is ready. If you have left the Install directory filed blank, your Joomla site will be accessible at:

http://yourdomain.com

and your Admin panel will be accessible (with your Admin Username and Password) at:

http://yourdomain.com/administrator/
Now your Joomla site appears with a default template. To change this, you need to install your template. Please check our tutorial about How to install a Joomla template?.

The last thing is to enter the content of your site using the Admin panel and your Joomla web site is ready. Good luck!
